 Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan returns for The Karate Kid 2

It is rumored that there’s a Karate Kid 2 in the making, as there have been a lot of articles and YouTube videos going around saying that they're planning to make a Karate Kid 2 starring Jaden Smith, who played Dre in The Karate Kid (2010).

Just last year, May 2025, we saw Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio make appearances in Karate Kid: Legends, and the movie was successful. Ralph Macchio also was a star in the Karate Kid spinoff Cobra Kai, which ended last year. 

Not sure if these rumors are true, but many fans of the Karate Kid franchise weren't pleased with the 2010 Karate Kid version; some said it was boring and needed actors from the original franchise, while others said that wasn’t karate, it was more like Kung Fu and should be named The Kung Fu Kid.
