Ralph Macchio reveals some spinoffs that he'd like to see. Macchio, who played Daniel LaRusso in The Karate Kid and Cobra Kai, recently gave an update on the future of Cobra Kai.

 

In an interview with Uproxx, where he promoted his new memoir Waxing On, he was asked which of the show's young cast could headline their own Cobra Kai spinoff.

"Oh my God, that's tough," Macchio said. "I gotta back myself off the corner of the room with that question. You know what, they're all great kids. I know that's a lame answer. It also matters what tone you're looking for. If it's a great comedic tone, there's Demetri and Hawk and their relationship, and Mary had really strong dramatic moments. Some of my favorite moments are their grounded relationship scenes. One of my favorite moments was in Episode 6 when Daniel talked about failing all the kids, and Robby says, "You didn't fail me." I get a lump in my throat. That's what's great about this show. When Johnny Lawrence's kid is telling Daniel LaRusso that I was a good mentor to him during that time, So I'm deflecting. All these kids can do it. I just hope they give me a cameo now and again.

 

However, Macchio wasn't the only one to speak about having a spinoff that centered around Hawk and Demetri. Gianni DeCenzo, who plays Demetri, has said he'd be into continuing his character's friendship with Hawk (Jacob Bertrand). DeCenzo mentioned how the story could see Demetri and Hawk going off to college in the future, detailing how the two of them could take on the role of being detectives.

The Hawk and Demetri spinoff sounds really great and other characters could make appearances in that spinoff if it was to be aired, I'm pretty sure fans would be pleased with this decision.
