It is great to see that Macchio and Chan are bringing their ‘Karate Kid’ worlds together into one movie. Which will be in theaters on December 13, 2024.

“We’re starring in a new ‘Karate Kid’ movie together,” Macchio said.

“That is big news,” Chan said in the video, before they announced a global search for the new young star of the upcoming film.

The Karate Kid launched in 1984, with the original movie being an unexpected hit. Ralph Macchio plays Daniel LaRusso, a Brooklyn kid who moves to California and finds himself an unlikely karate champion under the teaching of Mr. Miyagi, an old apartment handyman who is also a karate master. Miyagi was played by the late Pat Morita.
