Fans are not happy with Grey’s Anatomy returning for its 23rd season.
IGrey's Anatomy season 23 announcement sparked some backlash as fans are saying the show doesn't need a next season and should end. The ABC series, which Forster premiered in 2005, is the longest-running medical drama on television and recently celebrated 21 years on air.
The series remains a solid performer for ABC, particularly on streaming. Grey’s Anatomy more than doubles its initial on-air audience of 2.22 million viewers with a week of streaming and other delayed viewing, and it’s among the top 15 network series (excluding live sports) in the key ad demographic of adults 18-49. The show’s large library, which streams on Hulu and Netflix, is also a fixture in Nielsen’s streaming ratings.
However, plenty of familiar faces are expected to return for the new season, including Chandra Wilson (Bailey), James Pickens Jr. (Richard), Camilla Luddington (Jo), Caterina Scorsone (Amelia), and Chris Carmack (Link).
